Five Angles on Delaware Bay
Delaware Bay, Chesapeake Bay, and the Appalachian Mountains.

This MISR picture shows Delaware Bay, Chesapeake Bay, and the Appalachian Mountains in northeastern United States. The large image on the right was taken by the MISR camera that points straight down. The top two smaller pictures on the left were taken by cameras looking at two different angles as the Terra satellite approached the area. The bottom two pictures at the left were taken by cameras looking behind the satellite at two different angles as it passed over the area. You can see differences in brightness, color, and contrast depending on the angle at which the picture was taken. These differences tell scientists about the soil and vegatation covering earth's surface and how they may change over time.
